This homemade falafel with creamy vegan Tzatziki dipping sauce recipe is a match made in heaven and sure to impress your friends! Healthy and delicious.

Measuring cup
Food processor
Large skillet

Falafel Ingredients
1 15-ounce can chickpeas
¼ cup dry plain breadcrumbs
¼ cup finely chopped parsley
½ a red onion, finely chopped
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. ground coriander
1 tsp. ground cumin
Olive oil

Vegan Tzatziki Sauce Ingredients
1 cup plain vegan yogurt
½ cucumber, diced
1 tsp. dill
1 clove garlic, diced

Directions

  1. Drain and rinse chickpeas.
  2. Mix chickpeas, breadcrumbs, parsley, red onion, garlic salt, coriander, and cumin in a food processor. Process until ingredients are well mixed and finely diced.
  3. Shape the mixture into four ½ inch thick patties.
  4. Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook patties over medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side. The patties should appear golden brown, firm, and crispy.
  6. Set patties aside while preparing the sauce.
  7. Clean and dice ½ a cucumber.
  8. Peel and dice a clove of garlic.
  9. Mix vegan yogurt, cucumber, dill, and garlic in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
  10. Recommend serving falafel on a salad, in a pita, or as a sandwich.
